摘要: Abstract The Navier-Stokes and energy equations for the steady, incompressible, laminar flow past a circular cylinder at constant temperature are solved by expressing as well stream function in truncated Fourier series. partial differential reduced to system of simultaneous ordinary equations, which then numerically integrated. Reynolds numbers Re, based on diameter, range from 1 40; Prandtl number Pr air is taken 0.72. solutions large distances obtained coordinate expansion used velocity boundary conditions infinity. This type condition infinity shown be more appropriate than free or Oseen approximation. Heat transfer terms local mean Nusselt computed compared with available numerical experimental data.
