摘要: Active plasma extract has been prepared from rabbits made anemic by phenylhydrazine treatment, but in every case where were equally bleeding the only peripheral evidence of erythropoietic activity found after injection filtrate was inducement a moderate reticulocytosis heterologous recipient. In bled on successive days until their hematocrits equal to paired animals injection, there is, nevertheless, lower oxygen carrying capacity injected animals. The latter have methemoglobin concenstrations amounting approximately 24 per cent total blood pigment while level is practically zero. Plasma extracts treated with apparently normal or very slightly damaged livers produce factor comparable potency that obtained animals. The most highly active preparations are which severely livers. The proposed hypothesis produced quantity when effective hematocrit below 12 15 and liver not capable rapid destruction producing an otherwise normally occurring inhibitor. The damage markedly as shown significant increase volume red cell mass, elevated count hematocrit, intense reticulocytosis.
