摘要: Bioreactor landfills allow a more active landfill management that recognizes the biological, chemical and physical processes involved in environment. This paper presents results of an experimental study carried out to determine effect solid waste size, leachate recirculation nutrient balance on rate municipal (MSW) biodegradation. Higher rates MSW biodegradation eventually cause reduction contaminant life span decrease cost long term monitoring. The indicated smaller size faster waste. In addition, full-scale site, which is located Nepean, Ontario, Canada. was recirculated into landfilled for 8 years through infiltration lagoons. Similar those obtained laboratory scale experiments were noted. average pH early stages acidic range scale, however, value 7-8 after 2 recirculation. concentration chloride remained fairly constant at about 1000 mg/l during period. A decreasing trend organic load, measured as biological oxygen demand demand, observed. Recovery air space also noted because enhanced subsidence decomposition
