摘要: The ability to generate large-scale transcriptome and proteome datasets has changed the landscape in parasite biology. These data enable an integrated, whole organism approach understanding how parasites function interact with their hosts. difficulty propagating Cryptosporidium means that work focused on oocyst sporozoite stages of parasite. Transcriptional studies using expressed sequence tags (ESTs), microarrays quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) have given a valuable insight into both host cells respond infection. In addition, global proteomics analyses characterised proteomes oocysts sporozoites C. parvum. Currently, research is lagging behind some other pathogens terms ‘omics’ analyses. However, there been significant technological bioinformatics advances recent years, which are set continue. Exploiting these technologies capitalising resulting “systems-biology” mean exciting times ahead field
