摘要: Was the transition from middle Upper Paleolithic (MUP) to late (LUP) in Siberia result of gradual, situ cultural change or abrupt that resulted multiple recolonization attempts? Past studies have primarily focused on chronology and typology attempts reconstruct culture histories. As a reconstruction hunter-gatherer ecology has been limited broad overviews generalizations. Questions regarding processes human colonization largely remained unanswered. Explaining differences between MUP LUP behavioral adaptations decision-making Siberian mammoth steppe is critical achieving full understanding process North during Pleistocene. This study uses both radiocarbon lithic technological data sites located Enisei River valley south-central address problem more comprehensive perspective. Chronological demonstrate region were separated by 4000-year gap straddling LGM, while suggest foragers before LGM making different provisioning decisions than after LGM. Results this indicate was colonized dispersal events.
