摘要: Dentifrices, two containing sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) and one stearylethoxylate as surfactant, were gently rubbed on the mucosal surface of medial wall cheek pouches in adult male Syrian golden hamsters. Four daily applications performed. On fifth day, animals sacrificed pouch tissue was routinely processed for light microscopy. After SLS dentifrices, epithelium showed consistently prominent structural changes, especially hyperkeratinization, including ortho para-keratinization, acanthosis with widening intercellular spaces, varying degrees basal hyperplasia. Identical morphological changes also observed after application a paste only an agent. In contrast, dentifrice, well agent, remained essentially identical to treated sterile saline, nontreated pouches. From these results, we may conclude that is agent responsible striking epithelial structure. The specific cytological effects cells remain be further studied. Interestingly, provides useful system rapid production hyperkeratinization stratified squamous hamster pouch.
