摘要: The biological cycle in the oceans may be viewed to comprised of two fundamental processes: photosynthesis and respiration. introduction by Steemann Nielsen 14C-technique for measuring planktonic has enabled this particular process extensively easily studied. As a consequence there is now considerable body data available measurements plankton photosynthesis. This contrasts with respiration which are still remarkably few direct measurements. Although processes regarded balance essentially equal on oceanic scale, food chain cause them separated both space time. In contrast photosynthesis, expected occur throughout water column. Thus any one situation, cannot taken simply but needs measured independently. Furthermore not restricted single group organisms common all. study inherently more complex extensive than from trophodynamic geographical points view. distribution between major groups (net zooplankton, microzooplankton, heterotrophic microorganisms, algae) will give insight into trophic structure community. vertical column can given accounts export fate products phytoplankton deeper parts ocean.
