Powder synthesis of nanocrystalline ZrO2–8%Y2O3 via a polymerization route

摘要: Abstract A Pechini process has been used for preparation of yttria-stabilized zirconia gels and powders. Thermal behavior gel relationships between processing parameters structure microstructure the powders have determine to use this route thin film YSZ. The thermal studied by both thermogravimetric (DTA/TGA) mass spectrometry analyses. decomposition progress is in several steps based on a thermally induced anionic redox reaction. transformation from amorphous powder (the gel) into crystallized homogeneous oxide phase corresponds an endothermic two exothermic peaks DTA curve; first one at 168°C related evaporation excess ethylene glycol, second peak 300°C superposition reactions : some organics crystallization last correspond pyrolysis residuals. series with different agglomerate structures synthesized altering acid citric–ethylene glycol ratio (CA/EG). CA/EG = 2.4 yields nanostructured 325°C that less porous average 10–20 nm primary particles. Its specific surface area around 55 m2/g.
