摘要: Abstract Asian immigrants to England and Wales have high mortality from coronary heart disease but low colon cancer. A survey of Asians in the London boroughs Brent Harrow was undertaken with object investigating this. Compared British population, consumed less saturated (S) fat cholesterol more polyunsaturated(P) vegetable fibre. The P/S ratio Asians' diet 0·85 compared 0·28 population: this reflected very linoleic acid content their plasma lipids. total high-density-lipoprotein men similar that a comparison group; concentrations women were much lower than women. Smoking rates both are not explained by levels these risk factors.
