摘要: Abstract In the present study, pure magnesium incorporated with metallic elements was synthesized using disintegrated melt deposition technique followed by hot extrusion. The added include: (i) mutually soluble element, aluminium (Al), (ii) insoluble titanium (Ti) and (iii) a combination of (Al Ti). addition carried out into two ways: (a) after prior ball milling (b) direct addition. developed Mg-based materials were investigated for their microstructural mechanical properties. Microstructural investigation revealed significant grain refinement due to evaluation properties showed improvement in microhardness, tensile compressive all Mg-materials when compared magnesium. individual resulted formation Mg–3Al alloy Mg–5.6Ti composite, improved both strength ductility. When milled, Al 3 Ti intermetallic formed solid state reaction resulting Mg–(3Al + 5.6Ti) BM which absent during (Mg–3Al–5.6Ti). composite highest strength, however at expense ductility, while Mg–3Al–5.6Ti relatively lower observed difference behaviour between is primarily attributed phase change morphology distribution ball-milling process.
