摘要: It is now widely known from extensive studies [1–3] over the past few decades on heterogeneous electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide in aqueous solutions that, across vast landscape CO_2-reduction electrocatalysts, copper stands alone as single metal that can deliver a remarkable variety products; unpredictably, however, product distribution does not include methanol [1–5]. The overall energy conversion efficiency Cu, defined [6] ratio free products generated and consumed reduction, only 30 to 40 %, overpotential Cu at benchmark current densities remains unacceptably large, ca. −1.4 V [1, 6]. diversity also becomes major hurdle if one coveted. desire for catalysts perform better than especially generation methanol, liquid transportation fuel, feedstock direct fuel cells, thus understandable.
