摘要: Summary Extracytoplasmic function (ECF) σ factors are critical players in signal transduction networks involved bacterial response to environmental changes. The Myxococcus xanthus genome reveals ∼45 putative ECF-σ factors, but for the overwhelming majority, specific signals or mechanisms selective activation and regulation remain unknown. One well-studied ECF-σ, CarQ, binds its anti-σ, CarR, is inactive dark drives own expression from promoter PQRS on illumination. This requires CarD/CarG complex, integration host factor (IHF) a CarD-binding site upstream of PQRS. Here, we show that DdvS, previously uncharacterized activates CarD/CarG-dependent manner inhibited when specifically bound N-terminal zinc-binding anti-σ domain cognate DdvA. Interestingly, find autoregulatory action 11 other studied here depends totally partially not IHF. In silico analysis revealed possible sites may be direct by target activity. CarD/CarG-linked likely recurs myxobacteria with orthologous pairs could underlie, at least part, global regulatory effect complex M. xanthus gene expression.
