摘要: Pyruvate, a natural metabolic fuel and antioxidant in myocardium other tissues, exerts variety of cardioprotective actions when provided at supraphysiological concentrations. Pyruvate increases cardiac contractile performance myocardial energy state, bolsters endogenous systems, protects from ischemia-reperfusion injury oxidant stress. This article reviews discusses basic clinically oriented research conducted over the last several years that has yielded fundamental information on pyruvate's inotropic mechanisms. Particular attention is placed enhancement sarcoplasmic reticular Ca2+ transport, its properties, ability to mitigate reversible irreversible injury. These efforts are establishing essential foundation for clinical application pyruvate therapy numerous settings including cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, resuscitation, stunning, failure.
