摘要: Background Dyspnea is an important admission parameter to detect undiagnosed cardiopulmonary conditions. The typical question, “Are you short of breath?” can give insufficient or misleading data. Objectives A group clinical research nurses sought improve dyspnea assessments by using a more accurate measure that would not unduly lengthen the process itself. methodology used achieve this outcome was utilization. Methods On admission, 103 patients were given standard question followed 4 Visual Analog Scales (VASD). These response measures assess degree in relationship variable exertion activities on scale 0 10. All responses VASD analyzed descriptive statistics. Results results showed 30% who responded “No” shortness breath query scored 5 for VASD. scores reported primary care provider further workup. Conclusion from project gave impetus designing formal study could validate use assessments.
