An obtuse-angled corner unit for fluctuating carbon nanohoops

摘要: The invention of corner units was the key factor that allowed synthesis cyclo-para-phenylenes with strained curved π-systems. Despite only a few scarce instances development to date, variety structural congeners have been synthesized. These preceding commonly possessed directing angles ≤90°, which enabled macrocyclization multiple units, up six. In this study, we introduce an obtuse-angled unit for cyclo-para-phenylene congeners. oxanorbornadiene angle 126° and thus larger structures seven units. Reductive aromatization applicable complete afforded anthracenylene panels. Structural studies experimental theoretical methods revealed fluctuating structure intrinsic non-belt shape.
