摘要: The title compound, C6H4Br2S, represents a versatile building block for the preparation of π-conjugated redox-active thienyl oligomers and metal-mediated cross-coupling reactions. This is due to presence an electrochemically active heterocycle reactive dibromovinyl substituent, which easily undergoes dehydrobromination in n-butyllithium afford 2-ethynylthiophene. In molecule, alkenyl unit thiophene ring are almost coplanar with angle 3.5 (2)° between normals best planes vinyl moiety.
