摘要: Repeating and apparently non-repeating fast radio bursts (FRB) differ by orders of magnitude in duty factors, energy rotation measure. Extensive monitoring FRB has failed to find any repetitions. This suggests the two types qualitatively, rather than repetition rate, are produced distinct kinds sources. The absence periodicity repeating argues that they not neutron stars. They may originate dilute relativistic jets low luminosity black hole accretion. Non-repeating be catastrophic events such as collapse an accreting magnetic star a or white dwarf star, during which disappearing moment radiates dipole radiation accelerates electrons nearby matter. If emitted collimated beams particles charge "bunches" with Lorentz factor $\gamma$, their is into solid angle $\sim \gamma^{-2}$ sterad, reducing requirement. powered reconnection, pulse length $\Delta t$ draw on volume \gamma^4 (c \Delta t)^3$, although only fraction 1/\gamma^2$ this dissipated without decollimation.
