摘要: Abstract In order to identify and quantify intrinsic errors in the atmosphere–land ocean–sea ice model components of Community Earth System Model version 1 (CESM1) their contributions tropical Atlantic sea surface temperature (SST) bias CESM1, we propose a new method diagnosis apply it set CESM1 simulations. Our analyses simulations indicate that both contain large Atlantic. When two are fully coupled, emerge quickly within year with strong seasonality growth rates. particular, contributes significantly forcing eastern equatorial warm SST early boreal summer. Further analysis shows upper thermocline water underneath mixed layer is too stand-alone simulation forced observed flux fields, suggesting cooling associated entrainment weak Therefore, although acknowledge potential importance westerly wind western low-level stratus cloud southeastern Atlantic, which originate from model, emphasize here solving those problems alone does not resolve CESM1.
