CorkSTFμfluidics – A novel concept for the development of eco-friendly light-weight energy absorbing composites

摘要: CorkSTFμfluidics are environmentally friendly composites consisting of a laminar sheet compacted micro-agglomerated cork engraved with network microchannels by laser and filled concentrated aqueous solution cornstarch (shear thickening fluid). Thus the mechanical properties these will result from combination enhanced shear response STF flowing through microchannels. In this work we have performed low velocity impact tests using drop weight testing machine in order to asses improvement regards alone. A numerical analysis was also allowed understand how behavior is triggered appropriate microchannels’ size inlet velocity. Thus, for 60P/40S/M sample, peak force larger than one given sheets without microchannel nor STF.
