摘要: N-Cadherin is one of the major Ca2+-dependent cell adhesion proteins in developing nervous system. Here, we analyze eye development zebrafish N-cadherin loss-of-function mutant parachutepaR2.10 (pacpaR2.10). The visual system fully developed by time pacpaR2.10 mutants show lethality at day 5. Already 24 hr postfertilization (hpf), retinal cells are more disorganized and rounded than wild-type. At later stages, retinae display a severe lamination defect with rosette formation (mostly islands plexiform layer tissue surrounded inner nuclear or photoreceptor cells), even though all classes types appear to be present as determined histology. Of interest, electron microscopy reveals that contain normal amount synapses morphology. Although sometimes deformed, typical structural components present, including membranous discs for rhodopsin storage. lens fibers develop completely normally, but some cases, epithelial round up become multilayered. We conclude mediated importance involved maintenance sheet, not essential ultrastructure synaptogenesis. Developmental Dynamics 226:000–000, 2003. © 2003 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
