Gluten sensitivity and neuromyelitis optica: two case reports

摘要: Neuromyelitis optica is a clinical syndrome characterised by acute transverse myelitis plus an or subacute optic neuritis with without recovery. Although once believed to be variant of multiple sclerosis, diagnostic criteria have recently been proposed for neuromyelitis optica, making it clinically distinct syndrome. The term gluten sensitivity refers state heightened immunological responsiveness ingested in genetically susceptible individuals, as indicated circulating antibodies gliadin. Several neurological complications described associated ranging from peripheral neuropathy and cerebellar ataxia increased risk epilepsy. myelopathy has some case reports coeliac disease, never association sensitivity.
