Estimation of Gibbs free energy difference in Pd-based bulk metallic glasses

摘要: A new thermodynamic expression for Gibbs free energy difference ΔG between the under-cooled liquid and corresponding crystals of bulk metallic glasses was derived. The newly proposed always gives results in fairly good agreement with experimental values over entire temperature range fusion Tm glass transition Tg Pd40Ni40P20, Pd40Cu30Ni10P20 Pd43Cu27Ni10P20, which possess different heat capacities. However, TS KN expressions cannot provide values. In addition, deviations calculated by at are smaller than those given other all studied. Cu- (9-11) , Nd- (12,13) Fe- (14-16) Ti- (17) Ni- (18,19) Pr- (20) Co- (21) Ca- (22) Ce-based alloys (23) excellent glass-forming ability.
