摘要: Purpose – Maintenance, an essential element of facilities management and a fundamental requisite for increasing availability sustaining stable processes, has been the focus technical research decades. However, there not concrete well‐structured classification different maintenance types that is accepted globally. The need such widely acceptable main incentive to delve into create new taxonomy. This paper aims address this issue.Design/methodology/approach gathers reviews several examples classifications viewpoints from geographical regions in world. Afterwards, it integrates various maintenance‐related terms terminologies with authors' systematic‐thinking approach, systems thinking, based on which strategic thinking formed.
