摘要: Overexpression of cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 has been implicated in many pathologic conditions, including cancer. One practical inference this finding is that sustained inhibition COX-2 could serve as a promising target for prevention or therapy Conventional nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and recently developed COX-2-specific inhibitors have shown considerable promise some forms human cancer; however, its application limited due to severe toxic side effects on normal cells. Therefore, there need define novel, nontoxic dietary constituents with proven chemopreventive through other pathways also possess but not COX-1 inhibitory activity. Recent studies green tea major polyphenolic constituent (-)epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) established remarkable cancer preventive therapeutic effects. Here, we show EGCG inhibits without affecting expression at both the mRNA protein levels, androgen-sensitive LNCaP androgen-insensitive PC-3 prostate carcinoma Based our study, it tempting suggest combination chemotherapeutic be an improved strategy treatment
