摘要: Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) have the potential to increase use of electricity fuel U.S. transportation needs. The effect this additional demand on electric system will depend amount and timing vehicles' periodic recharging grid. We used ORCED (Oak Ridge Competitive Electricity Dispatch) model evaluate impact PHEVs Virginia-Carolinas (VACAR) grid in 2018. An inventory one million was charging begun early evening later at night for comparison. Different connection power levels 1.4 kW, 2 6 kW were used. results include capacity requirements, types, generation technologies, emissions. Cost information such as added cost savings versus gasoline calculated. Preliminary expansion study all regions country are also presented. show distinct differences fuels generating technologies when times changed. At low specific late evening, coal major used, while more heavily during peak led combustion turbines combined cycle plants.
