摘要: Arachidonic acid is metabolised either by cyclooxygenases to produce prostaglandins and thromboxanes or lipoxygenases mono-, di- trihydroxyeicosatetraenoic acids (HETEs). Polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) release HETEs, including mono- dihydroxy fatty acids, when exposed stimuli such as the cakvim ionophore A23187 (refs 1, 2). The mono-HETEs are assumed be of particular importance with respect effects on leukocyte function because they have been shown possess both chemotactic chemokinetic activities towards PMNs eosinophils3,4. However, we now that aggregating released from rat human (ref. 5) not due but 5,12-di-HETE (leukotriene B). This compound active over concentration range 10 pg ml−1 5 ng ml−1.
