摘要: Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.), a US Department of Energy model species, is widely considered for biomass energy production. While previous studies have demonstrated the effect climate and management factors on yield chemical characteristics switchgrass monocultures, information lacking grown in combination with other species energy. Therefore, objective this quantitative review to compare as well mixtures switchgrass, species. We examined all peer-reviewed articles describing productivity extracted dry matter yields, stand age, nitrogen fertilization (N), temperature (growing degree days), precipitation/irrigation. was greater when monocultures (10.9 t ha -1 , n = 324) than (4.4 85); also total (6.9 90). The presence legume increased from 3.1 (n 65) 8.9 ha-1 20). Total switchgrass-dominated legumes reached 9.9 25), which not significantly different monoculture yield. results potential use crop both across wide geographic range. Monocultures, but mixtures, showed significant positive response N precipitation. consistent newly established (stand age 3 years) lowland upland ecotypes. In conclusion, these suggest that will increase mixtures. For treatment need be changed based ecotype age; should included an alternative source.
