摘要: Functional electrical stimulation of the triceps is a method restoring elbow extension to individuals with paralyzed triceps. Eleven arms cervical-level spinal cord injuries (SCIs) received electrode as an addition hand-grasp neuroprosthesis. Stimulation was controlled either part preprogrammed pattern or via switch accelerometer that connected neuroprosthesis external controller. The outcome measures were (1) moments at different positions, (2) performance in controllable workspace experiments, and (3) comparison alternative providing these individuals--a posterior deltoid (PD) tendon transfer. Stimulated 11 ranged from 0.8 13.3 N.m. stimulated varied angle manner consistent length-tension properties Triceps provided significantly stronger moment than PD generated by transfer being activated together always greater used separately. long head should be avoided persons weak shoulder abduction, since adducts limits function cases. Statistically, neuroprostheses increased ability successfully reach move object decreased time required acquire while reaching.
