Methods MedPar database for 2009 to 2010 was used develop inpatient risk-adjusted, postoperative length-of-stay (RApoLOS) prediction models live discharges 21 categories operations. Moving average control charts were each category define RApoLOS outliers (>3σ). relationships between all within 90 days discharge assessed. Results mortality rate .5%. Of 2,054,189 discharges, 147,292 (7%) outliers. There 14,657 (.7%) 187,566 (9%). had a 3.5% death 17% readmission, while those found be .5% 9% readmission ( P Conclusions have increased rates readmissions.
