摘要: The atmospheric motion vectors (AMV's) derived from geostationary satellites are valuable tool in weather forecasting especially data sparse region. This paper presents the results of an inter-comparison AMVs assigned heights Meteosat -7&Kalpana -1, satellite for both lower and upper levels by Infrared Window (IRW) Water Vapour (H 2 O or IR/WV) intercept methods. Kalpana -1 (different sensor resolution than -7) is being processed similar algorithm as Cooperative Institute Meteorological Science (CIMSS), USA. In this short study inter-comparison, utility IR/WV method assigning height wind at level winds shown graphically. It observed that actual speed direction radiosonde (300-150 hPa) higher up to order 8-12 m/sec 5-8 degree - 1 after applying semi-transparency correction.
