摘要: A new genus and species of cubozoan is reported from the Northern Territory Queensland. It possesses following autapomorphic characters with respect to other known forms in Tamoya/Irukandji group carybdeids: a robust, matchbox-sized body; broad overhanging pedalial inner wings; laminar-branching velarial canals; qualitatively quantatively unique nematocysts. Furthermore, while it shares some taxa group, its combination major morphological characters: like Tamoya, Carukia, Malo 'Morbakka', has frown-shaped rhopalial niche ostia; horns, perradial lappets, lacks gastric cirri; Tamoya prominent thorn-shaped upwardpointing diverticulum near base canal greatly flared tentacle bases; two rows nematocyst warts on lappets; Malo, rhopaliar horns are short broad. Its cnidome comprises Type 4 microbasic p-mastigophores tentacles, spherical isorhizas bell. Recent molecular phylogenetic studies place it, along intermediate between Carukia clade clade. considered mild health risk humans.
