Relative involvement, inadequacy, and jealousy: A test of a causal model

摘要: Romantic jealousy is defined as a reaction to perceived threat self and/or relationship. Based on the concepts of comparison level and for alternatives, guided by primary secondary appraisal processes in coping with stress, causal model jealously presented. This was tested based responses 150 romantically involved couples survey. A slightly revised found predict observed correlations among variables fairly well both males females. In greater relative involvement relationship inadequacy partner independently directly cause jealousy. These two indirectly affect through operation global variables: noticing worrying. distinction drawn between partner's evaluation oneself. Both types may be either acute or chronic.
