摘要: A review of the literature suggests there is a gap in research on experiences staff working private, voluntary and independent (PVI) early years settings relation to their children demonstrating difficult concerning behaviour. Previous has predominantly focused practitioner behaviour mainstream (Merrett Taylor, 1994; Stephenson, Linfoot Martin, 2010). Consideration training support were also important given potential impact group child’s socio-emotional development (Sylva, Melhuish, Sammons, Siraj-Blatchford Taggart, 2004). two stage mixed methods design was adopted address three questions: 1. What are behaviours that practitioners nursery find manage how do they perceive these be? 2. think factors influencing children’s what helpful when managing setting? 3. support are available help them behaviour? Questionnaire data gathered from 63 PVI one local authority. Semi-structured interviews, analysed using thematic analysis were conducted with sample (n=11). The findings stages collection combined during analysis under headings. questionnaires interviews then discussed previously introduced relevant psychological frameworks, e.g. Bronfrenbrenner’s ecological systems model (Bronfrenbrenner, 1974;1994) Attachment theory (Bowlby, 1969).
