摘要: Contamination of the environment with heavy metals, including cationic radionuclides, is a serious problem which has yet to be fully overcome. A class potentially effective cation exchangers for sequestering metals received little attention K-depleted mica. The purpose this study was investigate heavy-metal exchange properties phlogopite and biotite, were prepared from natural respectively, using sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB). X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns showed that interlayer K+ ions completely replaced exchangeable Na+ ions, resulting in expansion d001 spacing both biotite. In order selectivity biotite Co2+ Ni2+, isotherms Kielland plots constructed. indicated are highly selective as well Ni2+. XRD after 2Na+ → Ni2+ reactions suggest double sheets water present interlayer. These micas potential materials removal some such Ni radioactive species 60Co solution.
