摘要: We present spatially-resolved two-dimensional stellar kinematics for the 41 most massive early-type galaxies (MK ~ 10^11.8 Msun) of volume-limited (D < 108 Mpc) MASSIVE survey. For each galaxy, we obtain high-quality spectra in wavelength range 3650 to 5850 A from 246-fiber Mitchell integral-field spectrograph (IFS) at McDonald Observatory, covering a 107" x field view (often reaching 2 3 effective radii). measure 2-D spatial distribution galaxy's angular momentum (lambda and fast or slow rotator status), velocity dispersion (sigma), higher-order non-Gaussian features (Gauss-Hermite moments h3 h6). Our sample contains high fraction (~80% ) non-rotators with lambda <~ 0.2. When combined lower-mass ETGs ATLAS3D survey, find slow-rotators increase dramatically galaxy mass, ~50% MK -25.5 mag ~90% -26 mag. All our rotators show clear anti-correlation between V/sigma, slope is steeper more round galaxies. The radial profiles sigma luminosity environmental dependence: 12 luminous mag) are all brightest cluster/group (except NGC 4874) have rising nearly flat profiles, whereas five seven "isolated" fainter than = -25.8 falling sigma. positive average h4; h4 0.05 while less values 0 0.05.
