摘要: The activity patterns and partitioning of time by four small mammal species, with a focus on the swamp rat (Rattus lutreolus) in north-eastern New South Wales, was investigated using camera trap data from two studies. Analysis carried out 1079 events over 1530 trap–nights or 36 720 h deployment field. Rattus lutreolus were distinctly diurnal crepuscular peaks but this differed between sites when presence competitors. Hastings River mouse (Pseudomys oralis) bush fuscipes) displayed typical bimodal nocturnal activity. Antechinus mostly occasionally active during day. These indicate that where species Muridae co-occur, R. may reduce competition for food resources. It also confirms speculation displays behaviour, albeit dependent other murids.
