摘要: A joint project between the Human Monitoring Laboratory (HML) and Ottawa Hospital has measured retention of 131I in patients who have received radioiodine diagnostically. Thirty-nine subjects with intact thyroid glands nine athyreotic were HML's whole-body/thyroid counter to determine following its medical administration. The average biological half-life 26 euthyroid was found be 66.1+/-6.3 days which may he statistically significantly lower than ICRP recommended value 80 days. Nine hyperthyroid had a mean 38.2+/-8.6 three hypothyroid corresponding 29.3+/-8.8 Thyroid uptake conventional clinical fashion at Civic campus 24 h after oral administration using collimated thick sodium iodide detector placed over neck anteriorly. Measured values 10.144+/-0.009, 0.314+/-0.035 0.045+/-0.010 administered dose euthyroid, respectively. range hospital is 0.06 - 0.22. Uptake for group 0.3. followed two compartment model half-lives 1.0+/-1.2 18.4+/-1.1
