摘要: We demonstrate that an array of metallic nanorods enables subwavelength (near-field) imaging at infrared frequencies. Using homogenization approach, it is theoretically proved under certain conditions the incoming radiation can be transmitted by over a significant distance with fairly low attenuation. The propagation mechanism does not involve resonance material parameters and thus resolution strongly affected losses has wide bandwidth. ${\ensuremath{\lambda}}_{0}∕10$ silver rods $30\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{THz}$ propagating $0.6{\ensuremath{\lambda}}_{0}$ demonstrated numerically using full-wave electromagnetic simulator.
