摘要: Abstract Surface modification of clays has become increasingly important due to the practical applications such as fillers and adsorbents. The surface sepiolite with [3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl]trimethoxysilane been employed. modified was investigated by FTIR, XRD DTA/TG analysis. It found that chemical bonding takes place between hydroxyl groups and/or oxygen atoms within structure methoxy [3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl]trimethoxysilane. changes on electrokinetic properties particles were studied measuring zeta potential particle a function metal concentration equilibrium pH solution. clay always negative independent in This study also provides some evidence for adsorption ions sepiolite. onto varied type cations. available basic nitrogen centers covalently bonded skeleton Co(II), Cu(II), Mn(II), Zn(II), Fe(III) Cd(II) from aqueous solutions. amount ion adsorbed increases increase solution temperature, whereas it generally decreases ionic strength. experimental data correlated reasonably well Langmuir isotherm parameters ( q m K ) calculated. ability adsorb cations gave capacity order Zn(II) > Cu(II) ~ Co(II) Mn(II) affinities 2.167×10 −4 , 1.870×10 1.865×10 1.193×10 0.979×10 0.445×10 mol g −1 respectively.
