Response relationship between loading condition and corrosion fatigue behavior of nickel-aluminum bronze alloy and its crack tip damage mechanism

摘要: Abstract Corrosion fatigue is one of the major forms for nickel‑aluminum bronze alloy used in marine propeller. It greatly important to understand corrosion behavior seawater purpose improving service life equipment. In this study, crack growth rate 3.5% NaCl solution was tested under various stress intensity factors, ratios and loading frequencies reveal its mechanism. The results show that environment significantly accelerates decreases threshold, which attributed reactions between metals tip corrosive medium. Among frequency has more predominant influence on alloy, can be rationally explained by hydrogen embrittlement Additionally, process growth, acidification dealumination would occur at tip, resulting dissolution κ phases deterioration mechanical properties tip.
