摘要: BACKGROUND: The unacceptably high rates of incisional hernia after midline laparotomy and recurrent operations led us to design a new suture technique abdominal wall closure. METHODS: During 38 autopsies we opened the linea alba exactly at midline. On one side inserted thread in fascia, parallel fascial margin. Above this, interrupted each was made epigastrium, umbilical region hypogastrium. contralateral introduced suitable sutures without longitudinal thread. All were loaded with tensiometer until tore out tissue. data evaluated statistically by means Mann–Whitney U-test. RESULTS: median rupture strength on non-reinforced 67.5 N reinforced side, 113.3 (p < 0.0001). With caused cutting through tissue 77.2% cases, while this could be avoided all cases treated tension line (RTL). CONCLUSIONS: RTL reinforces base withstand an additional tensile load 40 N. This simple can used for primary closure as well hernias should compared clinical setting prospective randomized studies conventional techniques.
