摘要: While we do not have detailed understanding of the interactions and feedbacks between snow cover atmosphere, it is clear from even simple energy balance models preliminary observational studies l that area potentially a very important climatic variable. The areal distribution central in determining global albedo as well prescribing surface boundary` temperature, moisture, to some extent, low level atmospheric static stability. Late season (i.e., spring) has been related soil moisture which itself an component climate system. several variables are adequately sampled through network observation stations, other variables, among them cover, can only be sufficiently monitored by satellite. National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) analyzing satellite imagery on weekly basis for operational estimates over fifteen years. This paper presents synopses recent research diagnostics using these data at Weather Service's Climate Analysis Center. Currently available products evaluated light set desired characteristics future presented.
