摘要: Harbour porpoises are the most common small cetaceans in North Sea and Dutch coastal waters. To study their trophic level feeding location, stable carbon nitrogen isotope ratios (d 13 C d 15 N) were analysed muscle bone samples collected from 157 stranded along coast (2006! 2008). In addition, 30 prey species analysed. Prey showed high N values of higher level. geographic differences isotopic composition found, with more southern, estuarine areas. Based on values, we found neonatal enrichment that larger porpoises, particular males, seem to feed lower species, compared smaller individuals. Also show animals had fed levels distant times. Porpoises Eastern Scheldt reveal distinct muscle, but not bone. This shows these foraged for a longer time period born there. Seasonal variation revealed two groups coast, winter group (mainly males) migrated neighbouring regions subpopulation summer. These results furthered our insight about shifts location harbour southern over time.
