摘要: Technology and innovation play an increasingly important role in the economic development of both developed developing countries. We investigate how policy market factors influence firms’ (or other potential inventors’) decisions on or imitation by a model that emphasizes expected size, appropriability technological opportunity. empirically test using provincial pesticide data from rapidly country, China. find government encouraged local opening regions to more international trade, increasing investments public research education, strengthening intellectual property right (IPR) enforcement meet its WTO TRIPS obligations. Moreover, while IPR increases size are encouraging innovation, empirical evidence is mixed as inventors respond these differently. Policies increase could copying rather than inducing R&D investments, extended patent life may reinforce original standing infringers well inventors.
