摘要: Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is the key to enable rapid development and deployment of network services as well simplicity flexibility in operations management. To achieve maximum benefit NFV, monitoring performance characteristics Virtual Functions (VNFs) crucial. Packet processing time one most important metrics when it comes VNF monitoring. In this paper, we present Processing Time Monitoring (PPTMon) - a real-time, end-to-end solution for packet PPTMon can provide per-hop single multiple VNFs service function chains. works by embedding timestamp information directly into packets. implemented on top extended Berkeley Filter (eBPF) new Linux framework that allows high-speed processing. Our experiment results showed monitor with high accuracy negligible impact.
