摘要: Small-scale dynamo action is often held responsible for the generation of quiet-Sun magnetic fields. We aim to determine excitation conditions and saturation level small-scale dynamos in non-rotating turbulent convection at low Prandtl numbers. use high resolution direct numerical simulations weakly stratified convection. find that critical Reynolds number increases as decreased, which might suggest not automatically evident bodies with small numbers Sun. As a function (${\rm Rm}$), growth rate consistent an ${\rm Rm}^{1/2}$ scaling. No evidence logarithmic increase Rm}$ found.
