摘要: This article utilizes available spatial data to quantify the amount of customary land in Zambia and examine prospects for agricultural commercialization those areas, terms population densities, market access conditions, agro-ecological suitability. We find that approximately 51–54 percent Zambia’s remains under tenure and, by implication, smallholder utilization. However, populations are clustered 5 with reasonably good conditions. Good conditions generally located regions high levels rainfall variability due historical infrastructure investments. High density, accessible witnessing a rapid increase commodification, alienation, declining fallow rates.
