摘要: Static three-axis alternating field (AF) demagnetization is the most common method regularly implemented for removing magnetic components of rock samples. This so widely used that one its main limitations, acquisition gyroremanence (GRM), often not accounted or even discussed. The presence GRM likely interferes more than recognized in accurate determination stable remanence. accepted proposed by Dankers and Zijderveld (1981) excluding affected measurements requires nearly triple amount lab work, consequence, almost never on large batches Here, we present a laboratory procedure subsequent analysis (SI method) removes effects static AF without requiring extra work. paper, therefore, describes new standard protocol efficient rocks.
