摘要: Abstract Objective Large health care utilization databases are frequently used in variety of settings to study the use and outcomes therapeutics. Their size allows infrequent events, their representativeness routine clinical makes it possible real-world effectiveness patterns, availability at relatively low cost without long delays them accessible many researchers. However, concerns about database studies include data validity, lack detailed information, a limited ability control confounding. Study Design Setting We consider strengths, limitations, appropriate applications epidemiology services research, with particular reference medications. Conclusion Progress has been made on methodologic issues related recent years, but important areas persist merit scrutiny.
