摘要: Best management practices (BMPs) have been widely used to address hydrology and water quality issues in both agricultural urban areas. Increasing numbers of BMPs studied research projects implemented watershed projects, but a gap remains quantifying their effectiveness through time. In this paper, we review the current knowledge about BMP efficiencies, which indicates that most empirical studies focused on short-term while few explored long-term efficiencies. Most simulation efforts consider assume constant performance irrespective ages practices, generally based anticipated maintenance activities or expected over life BMP(s). However, efficiencies likely change time due factors such as degradation structures accumulation pollutants. Generally, impacts protection programs at levels not rapid large expected, possibly overly high expectations for practice efficiency, with even being sources pollutants under some conditions during periods. The available datasets reveals data are limited regarding efficiency. Based review, paper provides suggestions needs opportunities. Existing efficiency need be compiled. New important factors, activities, also collected. Then, existing new analyzed. Further is needed create framework, well modeling approaches built simulate changes community work together addressing these opportunities, will assist decision makers formulating better decisions implementation projects.
